Hello, my name is Brice Hildreth and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Every individual is unique and complex and I am adaptable to your needs in therapy. I focus on building a strong therapeutic alliance using my wide range of experience and practice with you taking the lead in your journey to the outcomes and goals you seek.
My approach
One of my passions is helping individuals understand the processes, thought patterns, and underlying causes of what is causing them distress in their life. With a wide range of approaches and modalities in my toolbox, the approaches I regularly utilize are cognitive-behavioral, strengths-based, gestalt, humanistic, holistic, solution-focused, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic. I believe each person is their own expert in their life and may not recognize the strengths, resources, and resilience they possess, or the thought patterns impacting your life.
My focus
I have experience working with most every age from 6 to 74 throughout my experience in community mental health and therapy practice. I am well versed in crisis intervention and also treat depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder.
My communication style
I believe the relationship we build together is one of the biggest determining factors in being successful in therapy. With a client-driven approach, I will listen and reflect, educate, validate, and give feedback when appropriate with you choosing the communication style that works for you for the best outcome possible.
My journey to mental healthcare
My life experiences drew me towards becoming a therapist and helping others improve their quality of life and realize their potential. I greatly empathize with how your mental health can affect your overall well-being and ability to have satisfying and reciprocal relationships. My passion has always been to make a positive impact in your life that is meaningful and sustainable.
My goals for you
Goals are necessary for many reasons as they are the outcome desired for you and/or your family, and the purpose is to continue using and practicing the skills learned when those goals are reached and the work continues in your personal day-to-day life. Goals should be specific and attainable and can be broken down into smaller parts to see the positive progress in the short term. The importance of goals is not only to achieve them but also to build resilience and re-evaluate what. is attainable over time.
My first session with you
At the first session, we will work towards establishing rapport with one another and building a therapeutic alliance. I will work to give context into your symptoms and concerns, and ask open-ended questions to understand how they affect the functional domains in your life. We will set goals and discuss preferred communication approaches and styles to achieve the outcome you desire.
