My communication style

I am a strength-focused, intentional communicator. I enjoy a fluid, collaborative exchange with my clients. I allow space and time for questions as well as freedom to express yourself how you see best. I set the tone for being respectful to self and others during sessions.

My journey to mental healthcare

After enduring a tragic and unexpected loss during graduate studies, I felt compelled to work with young adults dealing with normal life adjustments and new stressors. It was difficult for me to find someone to connect with, and I knew then that I did not want another person to feel that sense of loss without having a safe place to heal.

My goals for you

I assist clients with reaching their goals by first helping identify realistic, attainable goals. Using a strength-based approach, we work together to identify the resources you have at your disposal or can obtain with some effort. I assign therapeutic tasks from time to time to keep you accountable, and we review goals during sessions.

Our first session

My first session sets the tone for our time together. I want to learn about you and what led you to therapy, but also about where you are going on this journey. I typically do not focus heavily on goal setting or deep-rooted issues during the first session. It really is a time to assess whether we would be a good fit for therapy.
