April Bodily, PMHNP

April began her career in the emergency department, where she cared for people in some of their most painful and vulnerable moments. While working in emergency care, she saw how often mental health needs went unaddressed, and how much those needs shaped the rest of a person’s health journey. Her work in primary care as a Family Nurse Practitioner deepened this awareness, leading her to earn a post-master’s certification in psychiatric mental health. When she joined Rula in 2022, she brought a broad background in nursing and advanced practice to help launch Rula's psychiatric medication management service line, shaping the program from the ground up.

Since then, she has served as Lead NP, Education & Professional Development Lead NP, and now Associate National Medical Director. She is currently pursuing her MBA in Healthcare Administration to pair her clinical expertise with a deeper understanding of the business side of healthcare, so I can be an even stronger advocate for Rula’s patients.

April believes that connection saves lives, and she’d seen people come through life seasons they thought would break them — finding strength, purpose, and beauty in places they never expected. She’s a mom of five and part of a blended family of seven children with her family. She’s also caretaker to a pack of 10 miniature dachshunds and an owner of an enormous Cabbage Patch Kids collection.
