Add interest or variety. If a task feels boring, look for ways to make it more engaging. Listening to music, changing where you work, or turning a task into a challenge may help you stay focused.
You may also hear about a “dopamine detox,” which usually means taking a break from highly stimulating activities, like social media or video games. Despite the name, a dopamine detox doesn’t actually remove or reset dopamine in your brain. Taking breaks from distractions may help you change certain habits, but a dopamine detox isn’t a proven treatment for ADHD.
